Established
in 1995, the Nags Head Community Watch Program is an
organization sponsored by the Nags Head Police Division and
maintained by town residents. The purpose of the Community
Watch is to have town residents assist the police by acting as
another set of "eyes and ears" for the
department. The Community Watch holds meetings the second
Tuesday of every month at 7:00 pm in the Town of Nags Head
Municipal Complex. At the meetings Community Watch members
speak with each other and with police officers about concerns
and problems within their neighborhoods.
The town itself is divided into several community watch
areas. Each area is represented by a resident
"Community Watch Captain" and a police officer who is
assigned to that area. This officer is the neighborhood
residents first contact for any questions, concerns or problems
the resident may be dealing with. |
